Liquid caustic soda prices remain temporarily stable; flake caustic soda prices are stable but weak; futures prices have dropped sharply.
The domestic spot market for liquid caustic soda remained relatively stable today. The average capacity utilization rate among sampled caustic soda enterprises was 77.8% (down 1.8% week-on-week); during the week, five chlor-alkali units underwent maintenance while seven resumed operations, and some units temporarily reduced operating loads. Factory inventories at sampled enterprises rose 1.93% week-on-week and 42.64% year-on-year. The market in the Shandong region (North China) showed a trend of stability with a slight upward bias, with some prices seeing narrow increases. Regarding liquid chlorine, shipments were satisfactory, and prices saw slight upward adjustments. Alumina prices remained stable for the time being; short-term price trends are expected to involve fluctuating adjustments.
The domestic flake caustic soda market was stable but weak today; actual transaction prices are currently lower than manufacturers' quoted prices, and trading activity slowed as the weekend approached. Short-term prices are expected to remain stable with a downward bias.
