July 21 Caustic Soda Daily Review

Liquid caustic soda remained relatively stable, while flake caustic soda fluctuated, and futures prices bottomed out.

Today, the domestic liquid caustic soda spot market remained relatively stable. In June 2026, China's liquid caustic soda imports were 13.9 tons, down 71.1% year-on-year and 30.1% month-on-month; China's liquid caustic soda exports were 218,315.3 tons, down 24.9% year-on-year and 30.2% month-on-month. Prices in North China and Shandong remained relatively stable, with mainstream prices for both high- and low-grade caustic soda remaining largely unchanged. Prices in East China were generally stable with minor fluctuations; supply and demand changes were minimal, with most shipments being made on an as-needed basis, and downstream restocking for immediate needs being minimal. Liquid chlorine shipments were acceptable, with prices slightly higher in some areas. Alumina prices remained stable for the time being. Short-term prices are expected to fluctuate.

Today, the domestic flake caustic soda market fluctuated. New order quotations from major flake caustic soda plants in Northwest China remained stable, while prices in Xinjiang saw slight adjustments. Recent maintenance at some plants has slightly improved market sentiment, and short-term prices are expected to remain relatively stable with fluctuations.
